Partner of the Leibniz Research Cluster receives seal of excellence:
Jena successful in excellence strategy
The Friedrich Schiller University Jena has been awarded the contract for a Cluster of Excellence. As the selection committee announced today in Bonn, the Jena cluster application "Balance of the Microverse" belongs to the 57 selected alliances that will be funded in the Excellence Strategy of the Federal Government and the Länder over the next seven years. In the "Balance of the Microverse" excellence cluster, the University of Jena cooperates with its hospital and non-university research institutions. The Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology (Leibniz-HKI) played a major role in the development of the research concept. Axel Brakhage, one of the group leaders within the LSC InfectoOptics, professor at the University of Jena and director of the Leibniz-HKI, is speaker of the new cluster of excellence.
