Scientific American 60 Second Science with Miriam Agler-Rosenbaum (VersaDrop)
In the latest episode of 60 Second Science, Miriam Agler-Rosenbaum speaks with the Scientific American about the search after new antibiotics with help of droplet-based microfluidics.
In an interview with Sarah Vitak, the biotechnologist explains how millions of unknown soil bacteria can be cultivated in tiny droplets to search for new antibiotic producers. This new high-throughput method was described in the publication by Lisa Mahler and colleagues in the journal eLife (Mahler et al., eLife 2021).
